Position Summary:

The role is focused on development of PV projects in Italy from early stage through the investment decision and handover to the construction & operations team following Our Client Group standards and project management guidelines.

 

Manage the selection and acquisition of authorized projects or operating assets and coordinates activities inside the team and of consultants, included due-diligence for acquisition of authorized projects or operating assets;

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop PV projects in Italy from early stage through the investment decision and handover to the construction & operations team
  • Manage M&A transactions for pipeline enhancement for the business in close cooperation with Partnership & Transaction department
  • Coordinate interdisciplinary project teams with internal departments and external service providers
  • Originate sites: identification, assessment, initiation discussions with landowners and negotiation of land lease/purchase agreements
  • Manage the permitting process and coordinate the team of involved internal and external providers (e.g., consultants for environmental studies) and interact with all relevant stakeholders (e.g., permitting authorities, municipalities, politicians, landowners)
  • Manage and optimize project budgets, objectives, schedules and deliverables for assigned development projects
  • Manage existing Partnerships with external Developers (Joint Development Agreements)
  • Conduct risk analysis/assessments and recommend mitigation measures
  • Work closely with Valuation, Commercialization and Engineering teams to identify best route to market and to optimize the profitability of the business case
  • Support Head of Solar Development South Europe in all reporting aspects to have an up to date pipeline country overview (e.g. Monthly and Quarterly Performance Dialogues, Gate Pipeline Reporting, Business Updates)
  • Act as local ambassador for continuous improvement and operational excellence

 

Qualifications

  • Demonstrate performance orientation, self-motivation to drive the business, increase performance and deliver results
  • Proven knowledge of the Italian Renewables market, demonstrate competence in scouting and consenting process in Italy as well as proven network
  • Able to demonstrate commercial awareness and understanding of key commercial drivers to the energy sector
  • Ability to lead, develop, inspire, manage and delegate effectively across geographies
  • Ability to collaborate globally in cross functional teams and to effectively communicate internally & externally
  • Self-reflective personality, able to learn and act on feedback
  • Show strategic thinking capabilities, push the boundaries to grow the business
  • Show continuous improvement attitude by constantly optimizing the business
  • Excellent English & Italian written and oral communication skills, other languages are an advantage
  • Valid driving license
  • Significant work experience (5-10 years+) in solar and/or wind development in Italy
  • Degree (Master or Diploma) in engineering, business administration, economics, law or comparable studies
  • Strong track record of utility-scale solar and/or onshore wind project development
  • Strong knowledge of the Italian Wind and Solar market and stakeholders
  • Profound and detailed understanding of relevant market dynamics
  • Very good communication skills and high level assertiveness and communication skills in an international environment and the ability to build effective relationship at all levels
  • Appreciation for cultural differences
  • Willingness to travel
  • Fluent in Italian and English, other languages, in particular Spanish is a plus
